Summer Sunday

Not much new, it's the first Sunday since summer started & our weather has been consistently in the 90s for the daytime highs & consistently in the 70s for the lows. Humidity is variable, right now they're talking "more humidity", bleah.

We had some summer plans but everything is in limbo until we get a few things sorted out.

I've been working on a Cottage Creations friend. It will ether be Liesl or Fritz (and Alpine friend) or Sven or Solveig, I have not decided yet... I'm working on sport weight yarn and for the most part, I can easily do any of the sport weight dolls. Once I pick a sweater style, I'll know which one I'm working on!

Also, Reuven (who is now 4) has started to show interest in learning how to knit. He is left handed, but since I knit continental, I see no reason why I have to teach him by sitting across from him... besides, at his age, he likes to knit on my lap. He seems to understand the basic concept of sticking the needle into the loop & pulling it off the needle after *I* put the working yarn around the needle...so it's kind of a 4 handed process!

Pictures another time!

Happy Sunday!

Still alive

Still alive here at the Weaving Rainbow "palace", but am not sure if I am up to blogging... missed last month, sorry about that, I'll try to make up for it with a couple of extra entries this month! Lots of things have happened over the last few months & I'd rather write personal emails or hand write in my journal. Live has thrown a few nasty curves, but we're surviving as best as we can & thinking as positively as we can...

HOWEVER I've been playing with my colored pencils again and that is a good thing! Also been knitting... I'm ALMOST done with my cityline pink socks, I am doing the last part of the hem rounds for the picot edges, then I'll bast the thing... not sure what type of cast off (working toe up) I should use for basting...

Here's some photo updates straight out of my hard drive:

Click to enlarge... this is a photo of the Muchos Poncho in progress (but have not worked on it for a while)

rogueswatchblue.jpg

Here's the Rogue swatch... click to enlarge.. I'm not doing it in this color or in Green Heather, but will do it in the Peacock, which is like Turquoise... a good friend of mine determined that I am a "Spring" so Spring colors are what I should wear...

Here's the peacock... photo doesn't do the color justice, it's really brighter, more turquoise looking. compare it with the color of the light blue Rogue swatch above & you might see what I mean! The purple looks okay on my screen & the light blue is about right also... not sure why the peacock looks like a greyed blue rather than a bright turquoise... the mysteries of computer monitor/digital camera interpretation & all that jazz...

Click to enlarge... Here's 2 dishcloths/facecloths that I sent to the Fiberlings cloth exchange & the hem is the Rogue hem in Green Heather, but as I said above, I'm gonna do this one in Peacock...

I've done some more cloths/hotpads, some are mosaics, some are circular lace... pix are still on the camera, so will save the discussion for when I upload the camera.

Future projects:

restart or resume Spincraft color & cable vest
baby socks for my new cousin
baby blanket (handwoven on the HazelRose looms quilt weaver looms)
restart Rogue in Peacock (may wait until fall)...
Bridget or/and Paddy or Sven Scandanavian(Cottage Creations patterns for Knitted Friends)... or maybe one of the others...

I'm having fun with Movable types Thumbnail feature, don't mind me...
