Well, we've finally moved & the light is brighter... we still have some more things to do at the old place & a lot of renovating to do here, but we have gotten things set up so that we can do things somewhat efficiently.. we have enough cooking gadgets so we don't have to cook everything on a hot plate (we have a fully functional stove, but I need to give the kitchen a good scrub, which I hope to be able to do this weekend)...
Of course we don't know where everything is, but that will change in time!
Yesterday we found a decent pizza place about 10 miles from here... they have "hand tossed" crusts & the pizza does NOT taste like cookie cutter pizza (pizza hut, etc)... and there seem to be others to try.
Today we need to do some more work at the old place, get some more stuff, etc... so I'll keep this entry short...
but it's very faint at the moment... the movers are coming on Sunday and there's still lots of packing to do, some of which will have to be done after the movers leave, finishing up and cleaning up...
Gary's at the house with 2 of the boys & the other two are here with me... Gary's supposed to get the bathroom put back together at the house and hopefully will also get the ceiling fan/light in the living room installed, but the most important thing is the bathroom.
Why does the post office have to revise people's addresses? When we lived at this house 10 years or so ago, we had a different address & when I called with the NEW address to have utilities turned on, the phone company couldn't find us, the electric company was able to locate us through the OLD mailing address and the water company finally got it figured out... on top of that, there's an identical version of our address in the same town with South or West instead of North, so that part of the mailing address is critical...arrrgh...it's not like this is a big city...
It feels like a lot of money has been going into moving & renovating... lots of deposits to pay, things we need to renovate the house & moving will be expensive... I've used these movers before & am comfortable about how they work.
Moving the cats is going to be worrisome... not the actual move, but getting there: the back porch needs to be rebuilt & I'm not sure if we'll be able to keep the cats inside and 1: when you first move with cats, it is NOT a good idea to let them go outside for at least a couple of weeks and 2: this house is on a road... supposedly 30 mph is the speed limit, but I bet not everyone obeys that... before the town "incorporated", people used to speed through town, but now there is a speed limit sign and a stop sign... hopefully we won't lose any of the cats & hopefully they will be content to be indoor only cats...
I wish we didn't have to move, but the taxes here are beyond our means. Should be somewhat more reasonable here...
Will do a bit more rearranging in the bedroom so I can go to sleep!
