Whoops, I haven't posted since what... last year? Just been a little busy & such... I'll try to do better! Happy New Year, everyone!
Street Smart booklets
If you've come here looking for Street Smart booklets, I've run out but I've got more on the way, and should have them by the end of this month/early next month. There are several nice patterns in the booklet and I think the most popular one is the Must Have It cardigan, but a looksee on the Ravelry site shows that all the other patterns from this book are popular! If you want to reserve a copy, go to my website and click on patterns then paton's patterns & it will be there! You can also email me or just watch the site for when it changes from "out of stock" to "on the way" to "HERE!"
If you're wanting to knit something out of this book, I highly recommend a Yahoogroup called musthave_knitalong
DNA scarf
I'm trying to finish up a couple of projects, have started a DNA scarf for Gary's therapist (they're doing EMDR therapy to help him deal with stress back from when he worked fire & ambulance in the 1980s... if you or someone you know has PTSD, this might be worth looking into. When I asked if it's working, Gary said "it seems to be" and when I asked "in what way" he said "I don't seem to be having as many nightmares". That alone is a plus!
Sarah's socks
They're almost done... maybe I should change the name of these to "park socks" since I'm always working on them in the park! I do plan to write out the instructions for how to make these, will post the child size free and we'll see how it goes from there!
The lure of Aran cables
I've wanted an Aran sweater for a few years now & right now I'm wearing a poorly fitted version of one that I found at a thrift store. It is 100% wool and is made by American Eagle outfitters... it's a simple design, has a hood & split bell sleeves and the big thing is that it is warm. I only wear it in the house at the moment (or under a coat if I go outside briefly)... it's a little too short, rides up my waist & is too large around the front of the shoulders. It's got raglan shaping and I'm wondering if this exact same sweater would fit if it was one size larger?
I'm thinking of that fits nicely and is long & comfy...has saddle shoulders, not sure if I want drop shoulder construction or if I should take a chance on raglans or what... I've looked at several patterns & I guess I'll have to take a basic pattern & just use the types of cables that I want to use!
Pictures another time!
