3 year old art master

Today Reuven did an interesting graphic using the Windows paint program:

He calls it "White & Black"

I think he's doing better than Picasso or Pollack with the way he uses colors & placement/composition & such!

White Buffalo Poncho

I started on the White Buffalo poncho from the From the Hip booklet yesterday... actually, I just did a swatch, but I'm ready to go. I have all the yarn available & needles pretty much picked out, all I have to do is a swatch to see how it washes and then I'm good to go...may start on the knitting before I finish washing the swatch...

I won't wash the swatch I used with all the colors because I only have one skein of the red & can no longer get that color, but I'll take a picture of it before I frog that swatch. The swatch I'll make for washing will be with the main color yarn since I think I have enough for the whole project of that color.

We're on the lower "valleys" of the weather rollercoaster now: it's chilly & rainy out.

Monday

Yeah, it's Monday...on the news they said today is Blue Monday, whatever that means, I wasn't really paying attention, plus the captions were pretty messed up today because our antenna doesn't work very well.

I've got a new shawl in progress for the gallery & will post it when it's done...

I made a couple of hats this week, one was made from White Buffalo yarn in stripes and the other was a red and white Lopi hat for Evan to match his soccer team colors. His team was in a tournament on Saturday & the team won...they played at the Blue Sky sports center, which is the practice/training center for the Dallas Burn soccer team... when the team isn't using the space, they rent it out so that kids can play...

That's all for now...

Roller Coaster Weather in Texas

Happy New Year, everyone!

The weather in Texas is like a roller coaster in the wintertime: we'll get 2 or 3 or 4 days of warm temperatures (60-70 degrees) and then suddenly the highs are not much more than 30 or 40... we're slowly exiting the arctic weather and on the way up to warm temperatures, which should last until around Wednesday or Thursday and then SUDDENLY drop down to the 30s for the high... and then it'll probably be up again and down again... it was SUPPOSED to get up to 60 degrees today, but it's 45 degrees now (4pm) and I don't see how it's likely to get up to 60 at this point today... tomorrow it's supposed to go up to 72 and stay up there until Wednesday... it'll be nice to be able to keep the heater mostly off for the next few days, give us a break on our electric bill!

I did another swatch for Rogue, no photos, but I used a size US needle and I THINK it might be nice if I could go down to 5, will see what the swatch looks like after I wash it...if it looks good washed, then I'll stick with the 6, otherwise I may have to add a few stitches to the largest size to make up for using the smaller needle.

Not much else to write about... so will go for now!
