Instead of being a "good blogger" I'm just posting once a month?

I'll try to be a little better about posting. I have more incentive to post now that gary & Evan figured out how to set up the camera to upload with Linux Slackware 11!

Works in Progress

I think my current project is going to be to finish up that baby sweater before my cousin's baby grows out of it & hopefully he'll be able to wear it THIS winter. I need to come up with something for his older sister as well...maybe I'll give her a couple of the Little Buddies that I made for the conference we went to last week:

I mean to add arms to the ones who don't yet have arms! They are around 4" tall & fit neatly in a small child's hand. I sold 2 of them at the conference, one was red with no arms and the other was variegated & has arms. I also have a black buddy, fern green buddy & a royal blue buddy. They are knit with sport weight wool yarn. I also have a black buddy that is made with worsted weight yarn and is a little smaller than the sport weight buddies.

I plan to make a couple of sets to be used as math and punctuation buddies for Waldorf style teaching. Contact me if you would like to purchase a little buddy or set for yourself or your child. I may put them on the website, but won't do that until I have a bunch ready!

Mystery Stole, now known as Swan Lake

My stole is offwhite & represents Odette:

This lighting is not very good for this one but I think it shows the full piece better than the other photo I took.

Here's a closeup:

And here is a closeup of the cat's paw showing how I positioned the bead:

The way I did it was to put the bead on in the purl row right before doing the double decrease. If you have the pattern, you'll have an idea what I'm talking about. I tried putting the bead lower & found that this comes out closest to center for me (besides I LIKE it this way). I plan to put beads in all the cat's paw sections & I'm hoping that once I get to that part of the pattern I can watch TV while knitting this section. I plan to work on this when the muse hits me!

Future projects

When I was at the Rethinking Education conference I fell in love with a pattern by Two Old Bags called The Big Shrug... I would have never been interested in the pattern had I not seen it in person by a gal who was knitting it. The pictures online do NOT do it justice!
