Update lag again...

This month has been interesting...summer has more or less kicked in, it has been in the 90s most of the month with a few breaks when the temperatures didn't get much over 70...looks like it's going to be a LONG summer...hope we get out of Texas someday and live somewhere with a more gentle and moderate climate...

We have a new pooch! Her name is Goldie... Evan & I found her in the swimming pool/2nd Monday parking lot last week...we went to look and see if anything was posted with swimming pool opening info... we think she was dumped...she was apprehensive when we found her, but now she has made herself at home... I contacted the shelter (where I will NOT leave her because they are a kill-shelter) and a couple of vet's offices...she didn't have a collar or signs of one & was fairly dirty, but a good brushing solved that problem...

On Tuesday or Wednesday we'll take her in to see if she has a microchip and if she doesn't, we'll move forward with getting her a rabies shot & get an idea of her age & triple check to be sure she is spayed & get her tested for heartworms...Gary said he sees an old scar in the right place, so we think she is spayed..

She looks like she is part pomeranian & may have some chow in her (blue tongue) and is the right size for a Keeshond or American Eskimo...at this writing we're guessing that she is at least 5, so her "breed" is Heinz 2000 for now... Gary thinks she is older...

Here is a pic:

A good fiberdog, eh? Her brushed fur will be wonderful to spin & whenever I find the flyer for my Schacht wheel, I'll spin some up into yarn...

Opus is still getting used to her...we have to feed them separately!

I have 2 projects in active progress right now: fixation socks in the spring fling color:

And an inkle band which may be a leash for Goldie..it'll look better once I get a bit more done...the first 3 or 4 throws usually don't look very good... (just remembered I should put some ice cream sticks or something in first, so may restart it with that in mind...)

Again: I'm keeping comments closed until we can install Typekey or something like that... email me at patchworkgirl_atsign_weavingrainbow.com and I'll write back! Like the Celestial Seasons Tea bag boxes used to say (or still say?): please write, we love to respond.... :)
