Just so I don't get bumped off my blog rings

Our computer has been down the last couple of weeks and I'm logged in from the library. No pictures until we get our home computer working again...

Crocheting:

I finished 2 hats for the boys so far: Micah's has earflaps & Evan's has a bit of a brim... I still need to do Harrison's and Reuven's, but I found that I don't care for acrylic yarn, at least not Patons Canadiana or Red Heart....both yarns are just too hard & I can't imagine that they're comfortable on the boys' heads... Evan's is Paton's Classic and he likes his...leaf green with a black stripe and black edging...

And I finished my hat... I posted a photo of it in progress a few weeks ago, but Texas is having a heat wave, so I only got to wear it last Saturday...

Knitting:

Got 2 pairs of socks in progress for Evan & Micah for crazy sock day..they're going fast since they are worsted weight socks. Harrison's socks are done, they're doubled Paton's Kroy Country Jacquard...and for E&M I'm using Fortissima Big Sock yarn and doubled Kroy in the country jacquard and doubled denim jacquard...trying to make them crazy without being too girly looking...

I put together a knitting kit for Harrison's class's Fall Carnival basket...it came out quite nice: a knitting booklet, Online eyelash yarn in autumn mix, wool yarn and a couple of samples of the hand painted yarns that I will be offerring for sale on the weaving rainbow website as soon as we get the computer up and running again.

Weaving:

Did 2 bookmarks for Micah's class' Fall carnival basket..no photos, but they were pick up inkle weaving samples of triangles.
I put a shawl in Evan's basket...

I've finished and mailed that scarf and am

it's been awhile but...

I've been busy doing things offline and such... have not had a chance to update and then the computer has been acting wonky...

Here's a picture of the lace scarf that I did for Hunt Valley Cashmere... I probably should have pressed it after washing, but I did not want to take the chance that maybe my iron may not be nice to it... so I left it unpressed:

Harrison is 7

Harrison's brithday was Friday & I spent a little bit of time with him at school and then signed him out early and took him to Braums, where he managed to devour 2/3rds of a banana split...

His birthday present will arrive tomorrow. I don't dare say what it is until after tomorrow because his brothers occasionally read my blog & I've told them that they need to wait to find out what Harrison's present is!

Opus is great with Reuven...he lets Reuven climb all over him, sit on him, and hug him and doesn't complain a bit, doesn't mouth him the way he does the rest of us...he knows how gentle or rough to be with who.

I finished up a couple of hats for the boys.. crocheted... still need to make 2 more as I've made Micah's and Evan's... Harrison's came out waaaaaaaaaaay too big & I'm still hoping that my Patons Classic Merino burgundy yarn shows up so that I can make Harrison's in that color instead of using the Patons Canadiana which is hard/harsh acrylic yarn.

My hat is almost done... I think I only need to do another 2 or 3 rounds and voila...

Other than those quick/instant gratification projects, I'm trying to decide what to work on next. I may start my Rogue sweater, or may start some Wallaby pullovers for the boys. Evan & Micah would do the main knitting on their Wallaby sweaters and I'll do the pockets and any other non-straight knitting (though I will be glad to show them how to do more complicated stuff if they're interested, but we'll see!) Since I don't seem to have a lot of any one color, I'll do theirs in stripes... and we'll weave the ends in as we go up rounds so we don't HAVE to actually weave the ends in...

Nothing very interesting to write so I'll stop for now...
