UPDATE: Jim has retired and is no longer making looms... if you see something that he has sold that is not on the page, email me and I'll let you know if I still have any left. If I am low on an item, I'll remove it from the page. As of 7/20/2018, I still have several tiny looms in 8 dent, a few original looms in 8 dent, several beautiful cocobolo original loom kits, and a couple intermediate 8 dent looms.
email me if you're interested in any that are not on the website.
I'm very low on tools, but will be setting up a new page with another woodworker for these. email me for more details.
Jim Hokett's looms make beautiful mini-tapestries, and are also great for sampling. They are available in 6 dent, and 8 dent. They come in many different woods.
They are also available in several sizes, from tiny to extra large. At the moment, I have the 8 dent in stock in the "original/regular" and "intermediate" sizes. 6 dent coming soon in the original size. I also have the 6 and 8 dent tiny looms. I will stock more as interest increases. noteloom sizes are approximate! Woods vary. I usually have light and dark, sometimes stripey and other dramatic woods are available.
After you place your order, email me with wood preferences, and I will do my best!
Even though the looms are 6 and 8 dent, you are not limited to that sett: you can double or halve your warp; you can also do things like putting 2 warps in one slot, and one in the next slot... the possibilities are endless, depending on the thickness of your warp. For more information, you can email me and I will be happy to write to you. You can also find other weavers to discuss loom options on the Tapestry Weaving group on Ravelry or do a search for Hokett looms to find other discussions about Jim's looms.
